     7 3/4" long x 4 1/2" wide x 3 3/4" high, Fairy sleeping on a quilt.  This piece is special for a couple reasons.  When I first drew up the pattern, it was simply going to be a Fairy sleeping on a quilt. 

     The good folks at Wood Carving Illustrated Magazine decided they'd like to feature her in their magazine and asked if I'd consider making the carving into a trinket box.  I was a bit nervous about the idea....how to make the quilt into a box....I'd never done anything like that before!!  I finally, thanks to a variety of suggestions from my husband, decided on a way to do it and, if you look closely at the photos, you will see where the lid and bottom fit together.

     How did I do it?  The answer is in the Summer 2006 Magazine  -  Issue No. 35!  Needless to say, I'm very excited about being featured in such a great magazine!
